As parents and aunties of young kids, we struggled to stay on top of all the different summer activities schedules. Our kids wanted to try lots of different camps – science, dance, soccer, climbing – and they wanted to be in camps the same weeks as their friends. We work full-time and need to make sure our kids stay active and safe during the days all summer long. We also have kids of different ages and interests. We need to keep track of camp locations and then coordinate multiple drop-offs for different camps within our household.

All of our friends were complaining about the same problem. We did some research but could not find any tools online to help us with our summer scheduling challenges. The best solution we could cobble together was using spreadsheets and group chats to try to keep track of everything. No integration of research and scheduling, no real-time sharing and updates of calendars, and no ability to coordinate with friends.

We created KidsCal to provide a platform for real-time research and scheduling for summer camps. We want to make parents’ lives easier and children’s summers more fun.
